[ English | Deutsch | Español | Français | Italiano ]

Internet poker has become globally famous lately, with televised competitions and celebrity poker game shows. The games popularity, though, stretches back in reality a bit farther than its TV scores. Over the years several variations on the original poker game have been created, including some games that are not really poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely affiliated with twenty-one than long-standing poker, in that the players wager against the house rather than each other. The winning hands, are the established poker hands. There is no bluffing or other kinds of boondoggle. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to pay up prior to the croupier broadcasting "No further wagers." At that point, both you and the house and of course every one of the different gamblers receive five cards. After you have looked at your hand and the dealer’s first card, you need to either make a call bet or give up. The call wager’s amount is akin to your beginning wager, indicating that the stakes will have doubled. Bowing out means that your ante goes instantly to the casino. After the bet is the face off. If the dealer doesn’t have ace/king or better, your bet is given back, including an amount equal to the original bet. If the bank has a hand with ace/king or greater, you succeed if your hand defeats the casino’s hand. The dealer pony’s up money even with your ante and controlled expectations on your call bet. These odds are:

  • Equal for a pair or high card
  • 2-1 for 2 pairs
  • 3-1 for 3 of a kind
  • four to one for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • 7-1 for a full house
  • twenty to one for a four of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • one hundred to one for a royal flush
