I have been betting poker now for about five years, I have bet cards my entire life beginning with games of Gin Rummy for pennies with my Grand Mother, to all of the various styles of Brag and general random games such as Go Fish, Crash and one so eloquently called, card on head game. I used to always win, whatever casino game we were betting and although I liked to call it skill, it was extremely tough to warrant thinking about the randomness of the games we were playing, so I was pleased to accept I was having a protracted run of luck.
Then came Poker, or much more importantly Texas hold em Poker, made famous by a bunch of Texas card players in the 60’s and since developed into one of the largest card phenomena ever experienced. Poker is totally the new black, it is super cool with several of the world’s leading celebs racing to have their name associated with it. Just a quick flick via the TV channels these days and you are able to not escape from poker, and naturally there’s the fabled WSOP, the Holy Grail and Mecca all rolled into one for each individual gambler.
So with all of this new found recognition, with so several Television programmes devoted to poker, and magazine and book shelves loaded up with quality material written by the foremost minds on poker, when are people going to learn that this casino game is all about position!?
Perhaps I must not have so worked up about this, after all the more folks who have difficulty with the subtle techniques and approaches needed for succeeding regularly at Hold’em, the far better it’s for everyone else, proper? I mean, if they cannot be bothered to read all of the offered data about why position is so crucial, why really should we bother? We need to just be happy there’s one more fish at the table!
It is true, we must not encourage idleness with advice and assist. Nevertheless, I liken this to a helpful game of football. Naturally the stakes aren’t so high, but when you notice a player struggling, you assist them, provide them several advice, ultimately showing them a way to enjoy, like and be thankful for the casino game as much as you. I’m asking all house gamblers to do the same thing with their poker buddies who haven’t quite grasped the nuances of wagering position. Guide them to grow their respect for the casino game. Certainly, do not attempt to try this one in your community gambling house, the sharks won’t take pleasure in you teaching their meal how to swim!
