Net Big Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

Gus Hansen had a marvelous year on the WPT where he was the only one to achieve final poker table in 3 of the competitions. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You might remember one of the biggest pots in high stakes poker recorded history against Daniel Negreanu. He raked in a massive pot with 4 of a kind against Negreanu’s full house. Hansen has earned many televised poker appearances and is thought to be one of the greatest gamblers around the world. While playing web poker, another side of Hansen has been seen. He often plays in the 200/400 No Limit maximum buy-in of Forty Thousand dollars. Hansen usually buys-in for the minimum of Sixteen Thousand dollars and gambles very poorly. He sits there waiting for a good hand and then pushes all-in. I accept that Gus is an amazing poker player but not even close to the familiar players at 200/400no limit. Unless Gus is flat broke, he has absolutely no reason to sit at the game with the min buy-in.

Buying in for the minimum takes almost all of the expertise out of deep stack poker. Gus is presumed to be one of the best poker players in the world but he can’t buy in for the total amount. I think tv can skew our view of the real world sometimes. The best players in the world may be guys you have never heard about. Gus can be found competing in web poker on Full Tilt. He commonly participates in big stakes omaha high and texas hold’em. Gus Hansen has shown himself as a tournament player. Can he back up his talents in money games?
